Lady Cubs vs Lady Indians in Bi-District

The OHS Lady Cubs Volleyball season came to an end with the loss to the Quanah Lady Indians in the Bi-District playoff game. The season and loss is nothing to be down about because the Lady Cubs had a successful season and played with pride, grit and heart. It can be said now that the Lady Cubs Volleyball program is no longer in its infancy and has grown into a respectable program after two consecutive trips to the playoffs and many wins under their belt.

Four-Year POOHS member Anay Santibanez is escorted by parents Aida Flores and Consepcion Santibanez. Anay was a member of OHS cheer for four years, powerlifting for two years; JV softball for one year; debate and extemp speaker for one year; UIL copy editing and headline writing for two years; band lieutenant for two years and band president for one year. Jolie played basketball for one year, OHS Cheer for one year, One-Act Play for one year, softball for three years and softball manager for one year. Olney High School seniors from Cubs Football and the Pride of Olney High School Marching Band [POOHS] were escorted onto the field by family members to celebrate their achievements during a Nov. 1 Cub football game against Stamford.

Cubs Claw with the Tigers for Pink Out

The Olney Cubs hosted the Anson Tigers for the annual Pink Out game. Pink Out games are organized each year by the OHS Varsity Cheerleaders. During Pink Out events, students, teachers and community members wear special pink shirts to bring awareness to breast cancer and to encourage woman to have regular screenings to detect breast cancer early when the chances are best to stop the disease from spreading.
