Cubs, Lady Cubs shine in Hamlin Tourney
The Olney High School Cubs opened up district play by hosting the Petrolia Pirates. Jordan Jacoba, pitcher for the Cubs, brought the pepper with his solid arm, pitching the entire game and striking out 16 Pirates, helping the Cubsto a 6-0 for the Cubs district opener.
The OHS Lady Cubs hosted the Graford Lady Rabbits for a little spring dust up. The Lady Cubs fought hard but fell in the end to the Lady Rabbits, 3-9. Highlights for the game included a home run from seasoned Lady Cub #21 Ellie Hinson who was met by the entire team to celebrate at home plate. Runs from both #7 Brianna Galindo and rookie starter #13 Kristen Fields kept the Lady Cubs in the fight. Fight on, Lady Cubs!
