Sept. 11, the Olney Cubs traveled to Goldthwaite to take on the Eagles. The Cubs played hard, but with multiple missed block opportunities and quite a few missed tackles, the Cubs fell to the Eagles 8-48.

Thursday, Sept. 10 was the first day in the history of American professional sports that the NFL, NBA, MLB, the PGA Tour and Nascar all performed on the same day. It has been a wild few weeks in the sports world to say the very least and things are beginning to really heat up as the NBA playoffs and MLB regular season are both nearing the end.
With the Olney ISD volleyball program still in its infancy as far as sports programs go, it is hard to see just how well the program is doing when you don’t see a check in the win column or see 25 points up on the board.
The Olney Cubs traveled to Petrolia on Sept. 4, to battle the Pirates to secure a second win, but they fell short of victory after putting up a tough defensive battle against the Pirates. Final score had Cubs 14 and the Pirates at 33.
High school football is BACK in Olney as the Cubs make a huge statement in their first game of the 2020 season with a 48-0 win against Chico. This was the largest margin of victory for the Cubs in 13 years and it did not take long for the 2020 Cubs to make their mark on history for Olney football. “Great team win. Both sides of the ball played really well. We were physical and played fast.” Coach Guy said.
