Seven days, two hours. My phone tracked my location for the past week, and it recorded the astonishing truth that I didn’t set foot outside my own yard for seven full days and two hours. I don’t really know if that’s ever happened in my adult life, but this week I did it.

“The descendants of Israel separated themselves from all foreigners, and stood and confessed their sins and the iniquities of their fathers.” Nehemiah 9:2 NASB

At the time of my writing, we, like many across the U.S., are bracing for unusually frigid weather. Texas children have been known to play outside on Christmas day in shorts and t-shirts. This year, none of the women I know were really able to get any wear out of their cute Christmas sweaters--It was 80 degrees for much of the Christmas season in our part of the state.
