Are You Living for Earthly Riches or Eternal Redemption? Today I want to ask you a searching question: Are you more concerned with earthly success and comfort than with the eternal state of your soul? Imagine— what if the Lord Jesus Christ were to return today in all His majesty?

I’m writing this article gently as a mom who tends to do too much. If you feel like I’m getting preachy, I am, but I’m talking to people I fully understand, because I am one of you.
Beloved of God, by His grace let us be soberly reminded: when this earthly tent—our body—is torn down, we have a promise that sets us apart from the lost. According to God’s Word, we shall be raised with a new body, a heavenly body, one free from the corruption of this fallen world, fit to stand in the presence of God. This is our living hope and sure inheritance, guaranteed by the resurrection of Christ Himself.
I remember opening my dad’s Bible when I was a child. His mother gave it to him, and I suppose it was the Bible he used as a teenager and young adult. Her life was cut tragically short. She died when he was only 17, and she was sick for most of his childhood. She wrote a simple inscription inside, one that made an impression on me. I’ve never forgotten her old-fashioned scrawl across the inside cover: “Tommy, always remember that all the answers can be found in this book.”
