Publisher’s Points to Ponder Just Say ‘No’ to Big Box Stores and Keep it Local

I always make an effort to shop locally because it is important to have our dollars circulated in the community. The only time I shop at the superstores--commonly known as Big Box Stores--is when I can’t find something locally. When I am forced to shop outside of Olney, I often become frustrated with the level of service demonstrated at other stores that shall not be mentioned. Especially stores that begin with W and end with T.

Will B. Boy Scout Adventure: Hunting Snipe

Some, and I would go so far as to say a good majority of my best memories growing up are from my time as a Cub and Boy Scout. From pinewood derbies to the many projects to obtain a merit badge to the endless weekend summer camping trips, the Scouts offered more than good times with great friends. For me, they taught me how to be a man. Not getting much direction on the home front, the Scouts filled the roll brilliantly. They taught me many lessons, but mainly how to be a decent, kind and helpful person.

Will B. Doesn’t Need Shoes

Shoes? Who needs shoes! Not me in the summer as a kid, that’s who. Summer has always been my favorite season for many reasons, I think mostly because of the endless memories I made during those long, hot summer days.
