The Hamilton-Heard House

The Hamilton-Heard House

Dr. George B. Hamilton and his wife Theola (Yates) married in 1915 and acquired this lot in 1916 and built the house that year. Their daughter, Kathrine (Atchley) was born in 1921, so by 1920 they were making plans for a new home at 301 W. Main. To sell the house, Dr. Hamilton sold the house to one of the local druggists, Rhea Anderson (1885-1942), on a financial agreement.

The Empty Cross Sculpture Prayer Garden has been a refuge and blessing for many people in our community, nation and other countries. The Coming King Foundation (TCKF) staff and board members encourage you to visit the 24.5-acre garden. A good time to visit would be during the “Hallelujah” weekend, Oct. 30 and 31, from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. It will be the Open House for the Artists’ Gallery Gift Shop. Max Greiner, Jr. said, “The informal celebration will be in the “Outer Court” of TCKF sculpture prayer garden at the bottom near the TCKF Office at 520 Benson Dr. Please bring your credit card and pick out your Christmas gifts early this year!”
