The Christmas season is delightful. We love the “real” meaning of Christmas, and knowing that the baby Jesus was born in a manger in Bethlehem— coming into our world to give us God’s saving grace.

Have you ever gazed upon a field of wildflowers? They grow in the most obscure places at times, fighting for a place amongst mesquite trees, cactus, wheat fields, and asphalt, concrete. Indian paintbrush flowers, or Castilleja, will scatter across the rural lands of Texas. You’ll see them along the highway, waving hello and goodbye, as they dance in the wind.

A while back, I wrote two articles that were apparently less controversial than I thought that they would be. One was on how just as we know that Tylenol may induce Autism if absorbed in utero, there might be something else in the myriads of other drugs. Then I wrote an article about how there are only men and women. Both are part of the scientific consensus that is being debated. I am happy that our community is willing to have a questioning mind. You might not immediately see the connection, but I will show you that they come together in how science is practiced, by questioning the science.

90th Judicial District Pleas for September, October

William Michael Bahl II, (55 years of age): Graham, Texas, pled guilty to the offense of Possession of Child Pornography 50 or More Visual Depictions or Video, and was sentenced to forty-five (45) years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice – Institutional Division (TDCJ-ID). This sentence shall run consecutively (stacked) with the offense of Possession of Child Pornography Child Under 10 Years of age, and was ordered to pay $5,000 fine, court cost and restitution.

The Olney ISD Board of Trustees moved briskly through financial, academic, and facilities updates at its Oct. 27 meeting, approving the district’s annual improvement plan and taking key steps toward paying off the 2017 bond early.
