After a “Sister City” connection with Detchino was established, Richard and Dema Lunsford invited others to assist and a list of Detchino needs was provided - medical supplies being at the top of the list.
During June, July and the first week of August, the Children’s Library at the Olney Community Library & Arts Center provided an opportunity for young readers to keep track of their reading. They could read books from the library, home, on-line sources or other libraries. Reading is such an important part of continuing education, that a contest of who could read the most books and win the most points was part of the library’s summer program. The theme this year was “Oceans of Possibilities!” They could pursue books with this theme in mind or choose something else.
It’s that time of year again; school is back! It will be mixed emotions for some, but excitement for many.
