OHS Homecoming, Aug. 26
Homecoming for OHS this year will be on Friday, Aug 26. The festivities kick off with the Homecoming parade on Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 7 p.m. Line-up starts at the Olney High School parking lot and in front of the High School gym. The parade begins at 7:30 p.m. and will end at the downtown gazebo, where everyone will gather for a short Spirit Rally. The Bonfire has been canceled. There will be a pep-rally at the OHS gym at 3:10 p.m. on Friday. During the pep-rally Mr. Hunk will be crowned and the Homecoming Queen nominees will be announced. OHS invites all to come out and support the nominees and cheer on the Cubs. The Cubs play Alvard at home at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, when the Homecoming Queen will be crowned.
FBCO youth adventure, study Bible in New Mexico mountains
Teens from the First Baptist Church of Olney enjoyed six days of study and fun in the mountains of New Mexico, practicing how to live Jesus Christ’s teachings as they travel through a world of upheaval and distraction, Youth Pastor Chris Cavitt said.
Cubs boosters come out to Paint the Town Red!
The citizens of Olney showed up in large numbers to “paint the town red” to support the Cub and Lady Cub athletes during the annual Olney Athletic Booster Club’s Paint the Town Red event last week.
USSOCOM Chooses L3Harris - Air Tractor Team for Armed Overwatch Program
OLNEY, Texas — U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) has selected the L3Harris Technologies (NYSE:LHX) and Air Tractor, Inc.’s AT-802U Sky Warden™ system for its Armed Overwatch program. The program will field up to 75 rugged multi-mission aircraft to fulfill SOCOM’s need for a deployable, affordable, and sustainable aircraft system for close air support, armed intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) and strike coordination missions to counter violent extremist organizations.
