OHH profit bucks Texas hospital trend
The Olney Hamilton Hospital directors heard good news at their Dec. 2 meeting - the hospital has turned around a deep operating loss from last year at this time to a profit, days after the Texas Hospital Association reported that nearly twice as many hospitals were at risk of closure as before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Olney man arrested on child porn charges
An Olney man arrested in July for offering a child for sex on social media was arrested again on charges of possession of child pornography as the result of a continuing police investigation, Olney Police Chief Dan Birbeck said.

A Wichita Falls teenager was arrested last week on drug possession and evading arrest charges after leading a Young County deputy on a high-speed chase through Olney in a white Mercedes sedan, the sheriff ’s office said.
DA Peavy settles Olney cases
District Attorney Dee Peavy settled the following cases in the 90th Judicial District Court in November: Jason Martinez, Jr., 19, of Olney pled true to violating his probation agreement by committing the offense of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was sentenced to eight years in state prison and ordered to pay the remaining fine and court costs.
