OISD board members and boosters held separate events last week to inform voters about the upcoming $8.3 million school bond election on May 4.
The Olney Independent School District’s Board of Trustees will see at least one and possibly three seats turn over in the upcoming May 4 election.
Olney voters will go to the polls to select four of six City Council positions with the mayor’s and three council seats up for grabs.
On April 8, North America watched as a rare total eclipse passed overhead. Olney ISD students and teachers took a break from the daily grind to ooh and ahh at the rare occurrence. The next total eclipse for North America is estimated to happen again in 2044, meaning some of these students may be watching the eclipse with their children or students if some go on to become teachers. This was a rare bonding experience for the Olney ISD campus and for a multitude throughout Young County.
