Wakefield charged with second felony

An Olney man already jailed on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child was charged last month with a second count of the same charge, Young County District Attorney Dee Peavy said. Seth Cody Wakefield, 32, was arrested on June 11 following an Olney Police investigation into an outcry by the 14-year-old victim. He was charged with a second count involving the same victim and faces up to 20 years in prison on each count, or 40 years total, Ms. Peavy said. Mr. Wakefield has been held in Young County jail in lieu of $100,000 bail, sheriff ’s records show. A pretrial hearing was set for Oct. 17, she said.
