DeWayne Kirby is a welder. He graduated from OHS in 1966. He had already been certified as a welder, taught by his dad, Tom Kirby, who had established Kirby Welding Services in 1954, and then was tested in Wichita Falls by AWS.
The Olney Chamber of Commerce’s Tree Lighting didn’t just brighten the night on Nov. 30—it brought Olney together to kick off the Christmas season with a celebration for families. From free hot chocolate and a chili cookoff to carols and festive fun, citizens and local businesses joined forces to create a magical evening for all.
The Olney Junior High TMSCA participants competed in their first meet of the year on Nov. 9 and placed second overall with a total of 2,681 points.
