Luck or amazing timing helped Olney Hamilton Hospital show off its latest security upgrades and emergency procedures to a visiting state hospital inspector last week when Olney police ordered the hospital to lock down while officers tracked down a fleeing assault suspect.
The Olney American Legion Post 414 has really become the place to go for fun since Post Commander Chris Garcia began making improvements to the post and offering many activities for the community to enjoy. From concerts to market days to just a place to have good conversations over a beer with friends, the Legion is quickly becoming a focal point of gathering for the community.
Second grade students at Olney Elementary School created animal habitat dioramas that are on display in the hallways at the school. They also wrote reports last week that were posted with their dioramas. Second graders also entered the “One Water” poster contest through the SWC. Winners will be announced once posters are released back to Olney Elementary.
