During our snow/ice/white-out this January, 2026, I had a difficult time having ambition to accomplish anything around the house. I was closed-up in the house—I could not get out, and no one could get to my house! I did a lot of reading, ate my own prepared food from the freezer, and watched way too much TV News! And, I was so grateful to have power and phone service during that time—contact with the outside world!

Do you remember those family road trips from the past? I do. We traveled across the country with three children in the back seat. We did not have the videos with movies to entertain the kids…or cell phones. We did not even have seat belts in those days. There were coloring books or little readers to help entertain them for a while, and that became boring very soon. It was, “How much farther?”
