Amity Club Holds February Meeting at Grace Care Center

Amity Club held their February 5 meeting at Grace Care Center in Olney. The club brought homemade cookies and punch for the citizens. Carol Vorel opened the meeting with members reciting our club collect. She turned the meeting over to program chairman Judy Averett. Jury thanked Monica Bland, activity director at Grace Care, for letting us come and for helping set up the tables for the Center’s community. Judy then gave a brief history of Amity Club before she introduced The Piano Man, Greg Buenger.

Greg is local, plays piano at Newcastle Methodist Church, and is a retired veterinarian. He is a well-known, engaging entertainer in the area.

Greg played requests and had the audience clapping and singing quickly. His misuc ranged from George Strait, Willie Nelson, Jim Reeves, Waylon Jennings to Neil Diamond, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Elvis, to name a few.

Afterward,, the members continued their treats and conversations. The attendance was about 60 in the meeting room.

Hostesses were Margie Snyder and Kathy West. Other members in attendance : Nita Hearne, Judy Moberly, Carolyn Penn, Gail Spears, Jeanie Spivey, and Phyllis Whitsitt.
