Olney Senior Center Hosts Summer Dance

The Young County Olney Senior Cub Center [Cub Center] held their first dance of the summer with a beach theme, attracting a full house that included attendees of all ages.

The band, The Survivors, played a mix of country, jazz, and pop music from the 1950s and 60s, and got the crowd on the dance floor. The night also included a lively rendition of “Hound Dog,” by an Elvis Presley impersonator.

The event included a spread of treats, including Sonny’s BBQ provided by Cub Center activity director Candy Blair, and donated desserts, vegetable trays, snacks and drinks.

The Senior Center raffled off insulated mugs donated by Robin Breeden of Seniorly Yours, and Rebecca Staley from Red River Hospital of Wichita Falls, who also donated decorations for the dance.

Attendees enjoyed chatting in between dancing and eating delicious treats. For more information on Cub Center happenings or the Meals on Wheels program contact Cub Center through Facebook or their website at olneyscc.org.
