Nickel wins essay contest & Olney students selected as finalists

Students across the area submitted essays for the Fort Belknap Government-in-action Youth DC Tour Essay contest this year. Five finalists were chosen and then interviewed in order to choose this year’s winner. Bryanna Nickel, a senior at Newcastle High School, was chosen as this year’s winner. She will be joining the Texas delegation and other winners from across the country for a nine day tour of Austin and then DC. The trip takes place in June. Bryanna is the daughter of Dr. Tony and Jina Nickel, of Graham.

Devotional by Dr. Tony Nickel

If someone calls it [Christianity] socialism, then we must compel them to acknowledge that the Bible must then promote socialism,” (from which he drew cheers from the DNC event attendees, including party chairman Tom Perez). “Because Jesus offered free healthcare to everyone and he never charged a leper a co-pay.”
