This lot was platted around 1907 when the Wichita Falls@Southern came to Olney and was purchased by the Citizens Townsite Company. The principles in the company were Dr. Joel Edgar (1871-1951), Harrell, C.F. Hutchison, J.W. Clifton, J.E. Duncan, and T.H. Kemp. Dr. J.E. Harrell and Iny Reagan (1877-1956) married in 1896 and lived in Spingcreek until 1907, when it seemed that Olney would be one of the premier towns in the area.
Olney voters go to the polls May 7 to decide three school board races, two state constitutional amendments to lower property taxes, and a bond issue that, if approved, will update and expand the existing baseball and softball sports park.
The Hamilton Hospital Auxiliary was originated in 1962 and has provided many services for the patients and staff of the Hamilton Hospital. Since its inception, the Auxiliary has raised thousands of dollars each year for the hospital; these fundraisers and donations have allowed the Auxiliary to provide the hospital departments with new updated equipment.
