TxDot forms alliance to attract road workers

The State of Texas is planning to spend tens of millions of dollars in Young County and surrounding counties on highway construction projects in coming years, and the state transportation department is looking for workers to make them happen, the Texas Department of Transportation [TxDOT] said in a statement.
Cub Nutrition re-opens under new management

Cub Nutrition, located at 105 E Main St., recently had a change in ownership. The previous owner, Laura Fortner, moved from Olney when her husband, a football coach at OHS, took a position at another school. The new owner is Staci Meade, a long-time Olney resident. Mrs. Meade said that although she did make some renovations, the menu will stay pretty much the same. Cub Nutrition offers meal replacement shakes and energy teas. Mrs. Meade said she will have various discounts for different days and a loyalty program that can save customers a substantial amount. Olney residents sentenced in dog hoarding case

Two Olney residents started four-month jail sentences last weekend and will pay restitution for veterinary care for 26 dogs that were removed from their urine and feces-infested home on Payne Street in March, law enforcement officials said.
