Simon Dwyer, a former Olney police officer, went to work as Olney’s new city administrator on Friday, a day after the Olney City Council agreed to hire him in an executive session on May 3.
Olney voters chose three new City Council members with prior municipal experience, and overwhelmingly elected Mayor Rue Rogers to a new term in the May 4 election, according to unofficial results from the Young County Election Administrator.
Not only did Olney High School place first in the Region 2 University Interscholastic League contest, the team’s overall sweepstake scores were 92.5 points ahead of the other three competing regions.
“Crafty Mondays” at Olney Community Library is an exciting addition to the Summer Reading program, offering engaging activities for teens in 6th through 12th grade. Crafty Mondays will be held each Monday in June and July and one Monday in August. These classes promise a summer filled with creativity and fun!
