Three incumbent City Councilmembers took the oath of office for new terms after a victory in the May 6 election that some said was a validation of the Council’s current priorities to clean up the City and attract housing and new funding for infrastructure repairs.
The owners of a planned hydrogen production facility near Graham told Young County Commissioners that the project will break ground in June after supply chain issues delayed the start of construction. In the meantime, they said they will make good on tax payments that Olney Hamilton Hospital is counting on for its proposed expansion.

The Sheriff ’s Sale of foreclosed properties in Olney starts at 10 a.m. on June 6 on the Young County Courthouse steps. The minimum bid required by law is the lower of the delinquent properties taxes plus administrative costs and the most current County appraisal on the property, said attorney Jeanmarie Baer of Perdue Brandon Fielder Collins & Mott, which handles the County’s foreclosure sales.
