The Newcastle Bobcats hosted the St. Jo Panthers in a preseason tuner. The Bobcats looked very strong against St. Jo, and rightly so, with many veterans returning this season, offering a plethora of experience on the field.

Olney Public Works Director Michael Jacoba has been recognized with one of the highest honors in his profession, earning the Outstanding Professional Award from the Texas Water Utilities Association. The award is presented annually to one individual who has made “outstanding and significant contributions to the water utilities profession” across the state.
An Albuquerque man was arrested three times in less than 24 hours last weekend after assaulting a teenager at the Allsup’s convenience store in Olney, stealing from a Graham vape shop, and later attacking jailers, police said.
The Olney Police Department has a new face on the night shift. Officer Dennis Hahn began patrolling the city’s streets on Monday, Aug. 11, stepping into the role previously held by Officer Clayton Morris who was dismissed from the department last week.
