Every Thursday morning, since May of 2019, the Cumberland Presbyterian Church (210 S. Ave M) has been hosting Drive-through Prayer. This has been a unique opportunity for us to get to know many of you who have stopped by for prayer and a word of encouragement. This time has been precious for our church, and we hope it has been for the community as well.
Support for speed limit reduction pours in from community

Support continues to pour in concerning a potential speed limit reduction on Highway 251 in Olney. This issue has resurfaced over the past month, with several residents in the area wanting to see a change given the amount of potential accidents that could occur in this area. Some believe it is better to make a change before more life threatening accidents arise.

Local workgroup meeting to be held Feb. 3

The Young Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) and the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) will convene a public meeting on Monday, February 3, 2020 at 6:00 PM at the Young County Arena. The purpose of the meeting is to allow for public input into the 2021 conservation programs for Young County. The SWCD and NRCS officials will be there to hear recommendations for implementing the 2021 Environmental Quality Incentive Program (EQIP) in Young County. EQIP is the USDA’s cost-share incentive program for assisting farmers and ranchers with the conservation needs on their land. The Local Working Group (LWG) at the meeting will determine recommendations for resource concern priorities as well as ranking criteria. The Local Work Group is made up from representatives of the local Soil and Water Conservation District, Farm Service Agency County Committee, County Extension Service, and other representatives of agricultural groups.
