Cub Center Hosts Ice Cream Social at Dairy Queen
I found an icon on Facebook ten years ago that I have always loved. It was the words in that icon as they relate to life. “Life is like a camera— Just focus on what’s important and capture the good times, develop from the negatives and if things don’t turn out, just take another shot.”
Our friends over at the Young County Olney Cub Senior Center hosted a July game and potluck night. The social event aimed at bringing the community together, young and old, for an evening of games, food and fellowship has grown and become very popular over the last year.
I followed my three year old out to the front yard. She happily lugged all of the books that her little arms could hold, and I carried a camping blanket. It was that special time in the afternoon, when the sun is beginning to make its downward turn, when the shadows of the full, leafy trees create cool sanctuaries in the grass: a fine time to spread out a blanket and read books.
“Surely our griefs He Himself bore, And our sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted.”
