Welcome to the Real World!

In an effort to help youth make smart financial decisions and maintain financial stability, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will be offering the Welcome to the Real World! program in schools across the state. Welcome to the Real World! is an experiential learning program that allows young people the opportunity to learn about personal finance through real-life learning experiences without the real-world consequences. The interactive, hands-on, real-life simulation gives senior high youth the opportunity to explore career opportunities and make lifestyle and budget choices similar to those adults face on a daily basis. The accompanying fact sheets help youth prepare financially for the future.

Auxiliary’s Hamburger Fundraiser, June 9

The Olney Hamilton Hospital Auxiliary is planning a Community Meal Fundraiser for Wednesday, June 9th from 11AM - 1:30PM. It will be held at the Hospital Education Center (902 W. Hamilton) and will feature a hamburger/cheeseburger meal to include chips and a dessert for $8.00. We invite people to eat in, but take-out is available and also delivery upon request. The call-in number at the Education Center is provided on the flyer. In conjunction with the meal, we will also have a Bake Sale. We are also open to special baking requests for a later date, such as Father’s Day or the 4th of July. The proceeds go toward auxiliary projects to support the mission of our hospital and auxiliary. We hope to see you there!!!

A Walk in the Park with Jesus

From May 2 - 4, the First United Methodist Church of Olney hosted a walk in the park with Jesus. The three day event started off on Sunday evening with a magic show, burgers provided by House of Mercy, and music by Stan Mahler. Each day, following the meal, worship followed.
