St Luke Lutheran to Hold Dec. 21 Organ Concert
St. Luke Lutheran Church is inviting the Olney community to step inside a piece of musical history on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2025, when it hosts a special Christmas organ concert celebrating both the season and the launch of the church’s new music program.
The concert will begin at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary at 1302 W. Oak St., featuring acclaimed organist Katherine Meloan, who will showcase the church’s historic Reuter pipe organ with a program of traditional Christmas music. Along with performing classical and seasonal selections, Ms. Meloan will also lead the congregation in singing beloved hymns from the Lutheran songbook.
The St. Luke Choir will add to the afternoon with several choral Christmas selections, rounding out a program designed to blend performance with participation.
Following the concert, guests are invited to continue the celebration with a hot chocolate social in the Fellowship Hall.
The event is free and open to the public, and everyone in the community is welcome to attend. Organizers say the concert is meant not only to highlight the Reuter organ’s rich sound, but also to invite Olney into a renewed tradition of sacred music at St. Luke—just in time for Christmas.
