Parents Pitch In At Olney Education Foundation

Family members, Olney college students, and college-bound students helped by Olney Education Foundation scholarships and mentoring recently pitched in to clean and stain 30 chairs for the Foundation’s new home at 109 West Main Street.

The helpers included Isabel Melo, mother of Dulce Guzman, a graduate of Weatherford College whose mentor was Theresa McClatchy; Gloria Jimenez, whose son, Rodolfo Arce, attends Texas A & M University; Adan and Carmen Martinez, parents of Jennifer Martinez, who attends the University of Texas; and Antonia Salas, the grandmother of Tyana Kinney who goes to Texas Tech University. Lupe Godinez and her daughter, Allison Alvarado, also helped on behalf of their brother and son, Angel Alvarado, who attends Texas A & M University.

The OEF also wished to recognize Olney High School alumnus Camron McComack, now a Texas A & M University student, for his work on the new OEF office over the summer.

OEF thanked the families for their support.
