
Amity Club Holds Opening Year Brunch
Amity Club held their opening year brunch on Sept. 4 at the Hamilton Street Church of Christ fellowship hall. The hostess was the Program Committee, which consists of Carol Vorel, Judy Moberly, Donna Fischer, and Jeannie Spivey.
President Donna Sullivan opened the meeting by reciting the Club Collect. The chair was turned over to First Vice President Carol Vorel. She passed out the yearbooks for 2025-26. The theme this year is “Deep in the Heart …” Discussion of this year’s meetings, topics and committees were held. Interesting meetings will consist of an Art Tour and a program to be held by the new Program Education Foundation led by Kelly and Valorie Mahler.
The Piano Man will be back for the club’s Christmas Party. Next at our Grace Care Program, we will have Donnie Maines leading the singing and Kay Willis and her therapy dog, and Olney City Water Department later in the year.
President Sulllivan conducted a business meeting and then encouraged the new members to introduce themselves. Carol Ballard and Donna Fischer did an outstanding job. Judy Winslow then gave a heartfelt talk of her moving out of state. The meeting was adjourned.
Other members in attendance besides the prior mentioned were: Roslyn Fowler, Nita Hearne, Marilyn Norris, Carolyn Penn, Margie Snyder, Phyllis Whitsitt, and Judy Averett.
