Smithwick Family Reunion
The 2026 H.O. Smithwick annual family reunion was held July 2426 in New Braunfels at Hampton Inn and Suites.
On Friday, members who arrived early spent time at Landa Park. Friday afternoon time was spent at the hotel pool. Family members enjoyed dinner on their own at several different restaurants. Friday evening was spent visiting, and children played board games.
Saturday morning, several members enjoyed playing golf at The Bandit Golf Club. Others went to Wonder World Cave and Adventure Park and McKenna Children’s Museum. Saturday afternoon, members went tubing on the river, visiting, swimming at the pool, and resting at the hotel.
Saturday evening the family dinner was at Grins Restaurant in San Marcos. Dessert included the traditional decorated cake honoring family members with decade birthdays and anniversaries and recent graduations. This year’s cake was a family tree made with cupcakes. Birthdays honored were Eadalyn Opdenhoff and Hudson Culp (10 yrs), Cassidy Cohen (30 yrs), Al Carnley and Marvin Thrasher (60 yrs), and Larry Inge and Yvonne Holloway (70 yrs). Anniversary honorees were Ryan and Rachel Inge (10 yrs) and Clif and Rajonia Carnley (40 yrs). Graduate was Alexandria Culp from Fayetteville Technical Community College (Dental Assistant). Members completed Saturday evening with laughter, lots of stories, games for the kids, and thankfulness for the family.
