What keeps the Cub Center and its many events running are funding from donations and the volunteers who donate their time to the center. Some of those shown were part of the big group of volunteers who worked during the Souper Bowl fundraiser. Photo by Wi

Olney Senior Center Scores with Souper Bowl Fundraiser

The Young County Olney Senior Cub Center hosted its annual Super Bowl fundraiser, fittingly called Souper Bowl, a playful nod to the hearty homemade soups served at the event. Guests enjoyed generous portions of soup—more stew than soup—along with cornbread, a drink, and a homemade dessert.

This year’s fundraiser raised $6,062, proceeds that will help support the wide range of programs the Cub Center offers to seniors and community members throughout the year.

The event was held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. ahead of the 60th Super Bowl, allowing attendees to enjoy lunch without interfering with game-day plans.

The Olney Senior Cub Center serves as a social and nutritional hub for the community, providing weekday lunches, Meals on Wheels, and a full calendar of activities, including weekly game days after lunch. More information about the Cub Center and its programs is available on Facebook at Young County Senior Cub Center or online at olneyscc. org.
