American Legion Raffles Grill to Support Programs

The American Legion Post 414 in Olney held a raffle Saturday, May 8, at ACE Hardware to raise funds to support the organization’s veterans and community programs.

The raffle prize package included a Traeger pellet smoker and a bag of Traeger wood pellets donated by ACE Hardware in Olney, along with two ribeye steaks donated by a local supporter and a $60 gift card donated by Stewart’s Food Store Angela Lockard of Olney won the drawing.

Founded in 1927, the Olney American Legion Post is one of the city’s oldest civic organizations and has long served as a source of assistance for veterans and local families.

The organization provides support to veterans seeking healthcare and benefits, participates in outreach and disaster relief efforts, and sponsors educational and youth programs in the community.

T he Legion also promotes patriotism and civic involvement among local students through scholarships, mentorship opportunities and support for schools and educational initiatives.
