Gas Prices and Inflation

Long-time readers will know that I have explained that the primary cause of inflation is government spending. A check from the government will never bounce. This is true whether it is a stimulus check, Social Security check, or a subsidy check. The reason that my holographic Charizard card is so valuable is that there are very few of them. However, if all of a sudden they started making more of these, they would soon be worthless. The same is true of money. And if you have ever mentioned high prices, you will hear me blame the Federal Reserve, which controls the monetary policy of the country. However, please do not get me started on that rabbit trail, or we will be here all day.

The OHS Calculator Applications team of Sophie Roach, Darla Castillo, Braelyn Casteel, and Jeffry Flores, took third place at the State UIL contest, with 658 points, behind Three rivers and Sabine Pass. Mr. Flores came in fourth in the individual contest.

Olney Class of 2026 graduate Sawyer Edgington (R)took fifth at the state UIL Persuasive Speaking contest. Maddox Johnson (L) was among the top 12 2A competitors at the state UIL contest.

OHS Academic Teams Shine at State UIL

Olney High School students capped off another strong academic season with top finishes at the University Interscholastic League state contests in Austin earlier this month, bringing home medals in mathematics, calculator applications and persuasive speaking while competing against the best 2A schools in Texas.
