As spring warms up in Young County, folks around Olney are spending more time outside — checking fences, working cattle, or just enjoying a little fresh air. It’s also the time of year when snakes start showing up more often.

Dear Olney Citizen, The Keep Olney Beautiful Committee thanks you for your continued support in 2025. Through beautification, clean-up, and renovation projects, we aim to continue raising the bar for small town America. We appreciate each one of you for joining us in this mission and look forward to rejuvenation for years to come.

Olney Volunteer Fire Department is taking applications for its Toys for Tots program now through Dec. 12, 2025. Applications are available at the Olney Elementary School front office during school hours. Toy pickup will be Dec. 20 at the OVFD Station. Eligible children are 12 years old or younger and Olney residents.
