The Good and the Bad

The Good and the Bad

I always find it so weird how everything has a plus and a negative in pretty much every single thing in life and the universe. I call it the good and the bad. This includes being a one-person household, not counting my two pups.

The good: I can eat what I want, when I want, watch whatever I want and make plans and do stuff that only interests me to name a few. The bad: I have no one to eat with, no one to do stuff with, and no one to watch TV with. It sounds all good but only if you have a lot of people in your home and it is nice to have some alone time. Being alone all the time is a different story. I have kind of gotten used to it but it does have its moments good or bad.

The Yin and Yang or good and bad run through everything. Almost any delicious food is bad for us, so good and bad, watching TV is distracting and fun but too much and we turn into couch potatoes and the body puts on pounds, so good and bad. Even positive things we associate with not having anything bad like exercise or sports, too much and you can get injuries, not such a bad thing but still. Things in the Universe are the same, the sun gives us life but gets too close and its heat and radiation will kill us delicate humans. So many factors about Earth’s place in the Universe had to be exactly perfect for Earth to sustain life, I could never believe it was random, I fully believe God created the Earth for us. The people of Earth, for the most part, are the bad in the equation, to some degree, through overpopulation and over-commercialization of products that we seem to not be able to live without, we are killing the beautiful planet God created for us. People were very happy with so much less not even 100 years ago.

There is also good and bad in all humans. We are born into sin and only through accepting Jesus Christ as our savior can we be freed from sin. Romans 8:2: “For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death,” and John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Even accepting Jesus, we humans are prone to sin and be bad or do bad things. Jesus didn’t say accept me and it will be easy. It is hard work in a daily struggle that must be faced on a daily basis, but it’s a battle we have to face with renewed vigor each day. One of the points I am trying to drive home is that even though there is good and bad in all things, we are given a choice to do good or bad. The same can be said for what kind of day you will have. This is Will B saying, choose to do good just for today, choose to have a happy day just for today!
