Vick victorious after third-round submission

Olney’s James “The Texecutioner” Vick picked up his 11th professional mixed martial arts victory after submitting Abel Trujillo in the third round of an undercard match at UFC Fight Night in Houston Saturday.

In an interview with the Enterprise before the fight, Vick said he expected to weather an early storm from Trujillo, a former All-American collegiate wrestler, but where him out in the later rounds and go for a submission. Vicks prediction came true last Saturday as the 2005 Olney High School graduate landed a switch kick to level Trujillo, then mounted him for a submission.

“Everything went according to plan tonight! I knew he was a strong wrestler but I don’t feel that anyone in the division can hold me down,” Vick said in a post-fight interview with the UFC.
