Varsity Lady Cubs Face Notre Dame Lady Knights

The Olney Lady Cubs played the Notre Dame Lady Knights Monday, Dec. 10, in the Olney High School gym. The Lady Cubs defeated the Lady Knights 47-28.

The Lady Cubs scored 16 points to the Lady Knights’ 4 points in the first quarter. Jaden Jacoba scored 2 points, Anahi Marquez scored 2 points, Irune Aguirreazaldegui scored 2 points, Jae Montgomery made two 3-pointers for 6 points, and Claire Garcia made 4 points.

In the second quarter, the Lady Cubs made 7 points while the Lady Knights gained 8 points. Jacoba made 3 points including a free throw, Aguirreazaldegui scored 2 points, and Maddy Green scored 2 points.

The Lady Cubs regained the scoring lead by making 14 points in the third quarter to the Lady Knights’ 6 points. Marquez made 2 points, Aguirreazaldegui made two free throws for 2 points, Montgomery made two more 3-pointers, and a basket for 8 points and Garcia made two free throws for 2 points.

During the fourth quarter, the Lady Cubs gained another 10 points versus the Lady Knights’ 10 points. Green scored 3 points, Montgomery made 4 points, Lexi Allsbrooks made a free throw, and Garcia scored 2 points.

The players’ total scoring for the game: Montgomery 18 points, Garcia 8 points, Aguirreazaldegui 6 points, Jacoba 5 points, Green 5 points, Marquez 4 points and Allsbrooks 1 point.
