Varsity Cubs lose to Chico Dragons

The Varsity Cubs football team fought hard against the Chico Dragons on Friday, Oct. 26 in Chico, Texas. As the Cubs played on the field, the Cubs’ fans cheered them on from the stands and showed their unending support for their players.

Cesar Flores scored the first touchdown of the game, followed by a good kick for the extra point. His play was quickly followed by a Dragon touchdown, where the kick for the extra point was good. The first quarter ended with a tied score.

The Dragons scored two more touchdowns, a two-point conversion, and an extra point on a kick, before Parker Mayers ran the ball in for a touchdown. The Dragons were able to score another touchdown and twopoint conversion, despite the massive effort of the Cubs defense. The first half ended with a score of 30-13.

During halftime, the Pride of Olney High School Marching Band gave a performance of their UIL competition show, “Wrath and Redemption.”

Parker Mayers ran in for a touchdown early in the third quarter, and the extra point was good. The Dragons fought through the Cubs’ defense for three more touchdowns, each followed by a twopoint conversion. The third quarter ended with a score of 54-20.

The fourth quarter brought wo more touchdowns and two more two-point conversions for the Dragons. The Dragons claimed the victory, with a final score of 70-20.
