Varsity Cubs fall to Crosbyton Chiefs
In the sixth game of the football season on Friday, Oct. 4, Olney played in Crosbyton and lost by a score of 228. The team was very motivated after the win against the Chico Dragons the previous Friday.
The Cubs offense was led by quarterback Camron McComack. In passing plays, McComack completed seven passes for 48 total yards.
During the running plays, McComack had 26 carries for 174 total yards. Rylan Carter also carried the football a few times and got 91 total yards in 19 carries.
In receiving, Jamarcus Collins had five catches for 30 yards. Tucker Cortinez had one catch for one yard and A.J. Solano had one catch for 17 yards.
In total, the Olney Cubs had 309 total yards on offense.
On defense, Solano had seven tackles; three of them were solo tackles and four of them were assists. McComack had five tackles, including one solo tackle and five assists, Carter had two solo tackles and two assists. Sandoval had one solo and four assists and Collins had four tackles, which were all assists.
“The result is what counts,” Coach Chris Tobola said. “We need to focus now and we have to win the next game. This is the most important game in the entire season.”
Now they have to focus on the next game against TLCAA, which is Olney’s Homecoming game.
