The Olney Cubs played a scrimmage against the Ranger Bulldogs on Friday, August 24, in Ranger, Texas. The Cubs played with more confidence and drive than in the past. There were several runs where the offensive line was able to create an opening for a large gain in yards.
The defense also had a strong showing with several blocks that held the Bulldogs at bay.
“Struggled a little bit early, a little bit tentative, “Coach Guy shared after the scrimmage match, “in the first quarter although we didn’t score, by the time they got the ball they had 23 seconds left. So, we used almost that whole entire first quarter. That’s what we want, that’s us. Defense played good, they stepped up and got a turnover that allowed us to get that touchdown right there at the end. We are excited, we have good possibility. We have a lot of stuff to fix, but we think we are gonna get it.”
