Seventh-grade Cubs crush Haskell 32-6

The seventh-grade football team hosted the Haskell Indians last Thursday and came out victorious by a score of 32-6.

The rushing game hit its stride as the Cubs scored on each offensive possession. Cauy Burrows, Luis Marquez, Landon Belyeu, Haydon Carter, Codey Henderson and Jonathan Melchor paved the way for the running backs, giving them plenty of space to work with. Christopher Robertson, Clay Fite, and Bobby Smith led the team in rushing. Defensively, Fite, Axel Flores, Jose Olvera, Oswaldo Hernandez, and Jesse Sosa-Martinez shut down Haskell’s air attack. Carlos Englishbee, Randy Cantu, Marquez, and Melchor were aggressive on the defensive line. Smith, Robertson, and Henderson also played aggressively, landing some big hits on the Indians. These young men realized what they are capable of when working together, and fully intend to continue that trend as they travel to Stamford on Thursday to take on the Bulldogs. Come support the future of the Olney Cubs as the game. Seventh-grade kicks off at 4:30 p.m. with the eighth grade to follow.
