Red-and-White Scrimmage

The Olney Cubs kicked off the football season with the traditional Red vs. White game. Both teams had a mix of Varsity and Junior Varsity players, all players vying for a coveted Varsity starting position.

This year there are two Cubs battling it out for the starting quarterback position. Shown here is Jacob Hernandez, a senior Cub player hoping to take QB1.

Cameron McComack has a great arm and is competing for the QB1 spot this year. It’s quite possible the Cubs will use both quarterbacks this year as each brings something unique to the quarterback position.

Jose Castillo will return this year as a seasoned defensive player, moving into the defensive linebacker position, unofficially for now, Castillo was very aggressive during the Red vs White game and looks to be a key component in the Cub defense as he continually broke through the line sacking and scrambling the
quarterback.
