POOHS competes at Regional contest
The Pride of Olney competed in the University Interscholastic League Region 7 North Zone marching band competition, receiving first division (superior) ratings from all three judges.
This was a cause for celebration and instilled a sense of pride within the band.
“I was really excited hearing we (achieved) a one because I remembered how cool it was to make it to Area my freshman year,” junior drum major Sawyer Edgington said.
“I was excited to get another chance to get back to Area and try to get to State.”
As the band prepares for the Area competition on Nov. 2, they are working on marching fundamentals and making sure they polish all details.
“I have high hopes that we can do well at Area because the show has improved a lot in the last few weeks and can get even better in the next two,” Edgington said. “I think we’ve got a shot at State if we work hard and perfect the already good show.”
