Olney Packs Stadium for Meet the Cubs

Meet the Cubs & Lady Cubs is the Olney Athletic Booster Club’s annual event that ushers in the fall sports season at Olney High School. The annual event featured watermelon and water as attendees enjoyed meeting this year’s OHS fall athletes.

The Olney Athletic Booster Club has selected all new booster members and is ramping up for a successful year of fundraising and event planning.

Athletic booster clubs fill a needed spot for any athletic department, especially for rural athletic departments where funding may be limited. The funds the booster clubs raise go towards much-needed equipment that is sometimes not in a school district’s budget.

Funds raised will also be used to host special events and banquets for athletes, including the end-of-year athletic banquet. Next time you pass the boosters’ swag trailer, be sure to pick up a shirt or hat, knowing that the money raised is going towards a good cause.
