Olney Lady Cubs XC Sent Off to Area Competition

On Nov. 24, the Lady Cubs were given a send-off by Olney ISD. The City of Olney was ready to send the ladies off with a bang by providing Olney Volunteer Fire Department and EMS vehicles for escort duty.

Coach Kourtney Holyfield, head cross-country coach for Olney High School, said the girls have been working hard to improve their time each week.

“They show up to practice every morning at 6 a.m. with a good attitude and run 45 minutes to an hour,” Holyfield said

Although the Lady Cubs did not move on past the Area competition, Holyfield said the Area meet was a really good experience for the young ones.
