Olney JV Football Update

The Olney Junior high football program has been fighting through adversity all season. They are over half way done with the season and games haven’t always gone their way.

“Even though the record doesn’t indicate it, the boys are improving every week,” Head Coach Dustin Altmiller said.

The coaching staff has worked this season making a game plan every week for these young athletes, and they have executed amazingly, even when the games just don’t go their way.

Altmiller said the coaches are proud of these young athletes for fighting through the game until that clock hits zero, improving every day and taking a step further and they are making a great foundation for their future.

“I feel like the more time we can spend with our JH athletes, the better they will get,” Altmiller said. “We want to pour into them because this is where the foundation of our program begins. If we can create a solid foundation, then every program will benefit moving forward.”

This is not the coaches’ first time coaching junior high football, so they know what their athletes are getting into. The coaches know what to do and what to plan for, and they are helping the young athletes a lot.

”I have been associated with JH in some capacity every year that I have been coaching, so this isn’t my first time being with a JH group,” Altmiller said.

This team and coaching staff have worked all off season and season preparing for every week.

These young athletes have left blood, sweat, and tears on that field and that’s only a small part of the work they have put in on and off the field.

The Olney community can’t wait to see what these young athletes become because they have greatness in their blood.
