Olney High School Golf Team wins spot in area contest

On March 30, Olney Country Club hosted the District golf meet, the Olney Invitational. The Cubs and Lady Cubs battled chilly weather and high winds; both teams persevered and claimed second place overall for the tournament and will move on to the area competition. The Cubs team shot a 370 for the day, just two strokes shy of claiming first place.

The Lady Cubs team shot a 410 for the tournament, just four strokes shy of claiming first. Cub Gatlin Guy was playing great, winning the men’s firstplace spot with a score of 83. Lady Cub Chloe Neal was focused and claimed second place for the ladies with a score of 95.

Cubs team and individual scores are as follows: Caleb Johnson-88, Cooper Lane-94, Gatlin Guy-83 and Brady Lisle-105. Lady Cubs Team and scores: Ellie Hinson-97, Peyton Elliot-106, Chloe Neal-95, Natalie Rodriguez-112, Allie Barrington-112, Cate Rodriguez-119 and Whitney Shook-152.
