Olney Country Club Hosts High School Golf Tourney

The Olney Country Club hosted the first day of district golf competition; it was a hard-fought battle to bring district play to Olney, Olney Recreation Association President Landon Rowe said.

Mr. Rowe has made a huge impact on the Olney Country Club and helped revamp the course as well as bringing new tourneys and high school competitions to the Club.

“I thought they battled for the windy conditions. The boys’ team set them self-up for a fight for regionals on Monday in Nocona,” Mr. Rowe said of the day one competition. “I look forward to Marlee (Lane) and Case (Grey) finishing the job as a medalist and advancing to regionals. We are very appreciative that we have got to host a day of district and hope to do it again in the future.”

No results of district competition were available as of press time, please pick up a copy of the Enterprise next week for results of day 1 from Olney and day 2 in Nocona.
