NHS Inducts Two Newcastle Students

Newcastle High School Alba Adame and Addison Riley were inducted into the National Honors Society last week at the annual NHS banquet.

The new NHS members qualified by maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; serving their communities as volunteers; acting as leaders, problem solvers and “idea contributors”; and being people of good character, according to the NHS website.

The student of good character is cooperative, demonstrates high standards of honesty and reliability, shows courtesy, concern, and respect for others and generally, maintains a clean disciplinary record, NHS said. The local chapter sets the specific requirements for this criterion.
